What Are They?
Our ACC headphones are reliable, vandal resistant and suitable for any application within the public domain, thanks to the audio cable being protected inside a larger steel braided cable.
Our MK II headphones offer increased durability and improved sound due to the inclusion of the unique 90° swivel knuckle, a more robust anchor point between cable and headphones, as well as boasting an increased impedance of 100 Ohms. They are supplied with a 3.5mm jack and a simple robust hanger of modern design for easy storage.
We also offer durable single cup headphones.

What makes our headphones so exceptional?
blackbox-av originally developed these headphones for a contract with ‘Virgin‘ and ‘Our Price‘ in the early 90’s. With almost 20 years selling this popular product, we have developed the design to make the headphones as public-use ready as can be.
Not only do the Mk II Armour Cable Headphones produce excellent sound quality, we also attach them in a special way. At the end of each 1.2m armoured cable is a 90° Knuckle which allows the cable to pass through a wall or surface and fixes the headphones in place.
Many companies use glands (or nothing at all) which allows the cable to pass straight through a material but they do not allow the cable to hang naturally, putting strain onto the cable and the fitting. This knuckle also limits cable movement to 45° providing a sound anchor point and preventing the cable from being twisted around which can quickly cause damage to the inner cable, requiring a service call to repair.
Specifically engineered for public application, these headphones are considered the best and last longer in everyday use, having been in constant development since we first supplied them to ‘Virgin‘ and ‘Our Price‘ record stores almost 20 years ago.
How Do they Work?
Simply connect the headphones to your audio playback device using the 3.5mm jack. If you are in need of an audio playback device we recommend a SoundClip which contains an on-board amplifier and can output to 2 ACC headphones.
How are they Fitted?
The headphones are supplied with a 90° swivel knuckle which can be slotted through a panel or casing to the playback device via the jack connector. We also sell them with a modern hanger as pictured above. Should you want increased durability at the installation site we offer the Mk II Knuckle Mounting Plate which provides additional strength at the connection point of the 90° Knuckle.
